Every client I work with wants the same thing: more conversions.
They want visitors to sign up. Or buy. Or message them. Whatever the goal is — the landing page is where it happens.
After building 100+ landing pages over 15 years, I've learned that high conversion isn't about fancy design or clever copy. It's about removing friction at every step.
In this guide, I'll show you the exact framework I use for every client — and how you can apply it to your own projects.
First, the Golden Rule
A landing page has one job.
Not to look pretty. Not to please your designer. Not to demonstrate your coding skills. Its only job is to make the visitor take one specific action.
If your landing page tries to do five things, it'll do zero things well. Pick one goal and design everything around it.
The best landing page isn't the prettiest one. It's the one where you can't find anything to remove.
The 7-Part Landing Page Framework
Here's the structure I use, in order, for every high-converting page:
1. The Hero Section
Above the fold, you need three things:
- Clear headline — what you do, for whom
- Supporting subhead — the "why" that makes them care
- Primary CTA — the button that starts the journey
Bad headline: "Welcome to Our Platform"
Good headline: "Get 3x More Leads in 90 Days — Or We Work Free"
The difference? Specificity. Numbers. A promise they can visualize.
2. Social Proof Strip
Right below the hero, show proof:
- Client logos (even 3-4 is enough)
- Stats — "500+ clients", "4.9/5 rating"
- Press mentions — "Featured in..."
This section says: "You're not the first person to trust us."
3. The Problem Statement
Before you can sell your solution, you must prove you understand the problem. Spend 2-3 paragraphs describing the pain the visitor is feeling.
When done right, the visitor thinks: "This person gets me."
4. The Solution (Your Product)
Now — and only now — introduce your solution. Not as a product, but as the natural answer to the problem you just described.
Use concrete examples. Show screenshots. Explain how it works in plain English.
5. Benefits Over Features
Nobody buys features. They buy outcomes.
- Feature: "Real-time data sync" → Benefit: "Never lose an update again"
- Feature: "AI-powered analytics" → Benefit: "Know your best customers in 5 seconds"
- Feature: "24/7 support" → Benefit: "Never wait for help again"
Every feature should answer: so what?
6. Testimonials + Case Studies
Reviews with real names, real photos, real results. One detailed case study ("helped X grow 300%") beats 20 generic quotes.
Video testimonials beat everything else — they're 3x more convincing.
7. Final CTA
The same CTA as the hero, repeated at the bottom. Because some visitors will read the entire page before deciding.
Keep it simple: one button, one action, one promise.
The Technical Details That Matter
Design and copy aside — these technical factors affect conversion:
- Load time under 2 seconds — every extra second drops conversion by 7%
- Mobile-first — 70%+ of traffic is on phones
- Clear CTA buttons — visible, contrasting, action-oriented
- Minimal form fields — every field you add loses 10% of submissions
- Trust signals — SSL, privacy policy, money-back guarantee
The CTA Button Rules
Your CTA button is the most important element on the page. Follow these rules:
- Use action verbs — "Get Started" beats "Submit"
- Show the benefit — "Get My Free Quote" beats "Contact"
- Create urgency — "Start Today" beats "Learn More"
- Reduce anxiety — "No credit card required" below the button
- Make it big — at least 48px tall on mobile
What To Test
Once your page is live, test these elements in order of impact:
- Headline (biggest impact)
- CTA button text and color
- Hero image
- Form length
- Social proof placement
Test one thing at a time. Small changes compound.
Common Mistakes I See
- Too many CTAs — Confused visitors do nothing
- Jargon headlines — "Leverage synergy" means nothing
- No social proof — Trust is earned, not assumed
- Slow load times — Kill your conversion before it starts
- Mobile neglect — Design for phones first
- Weak CTA — "Submit" is the worst word in marketing
